Electronic bubble wrap eases stress
Scientists in Japan have produced an electronic version of bubble wrap which they say will help to ease the stress of Japanese businessmen.PuchiPuchi - billed as an 'electronic bubble wrap simulator' - is a small plastic box with eight raised buttons, when a user squeezes one, a popping sound is heard from a tiny speaker.
More than two million of the £4 devices have already been sold.
If a stressed business man continues to 'pop' the toy he might be rewarded with sounds which include a klaxon or simulated flatulence – but only after 100 pops.
Makers have also released a music CD of songs to play PuchiPuchi, or 'Eternal Poppety-Pop' while listening to.
Other odd stress toys from Japan have included Newton Swings and the Tamagotchi, an electronic pet.
