Where's Wally? on Google Earth
A Canadian artist has brought Where's Wally into the 21st century, by painting a 54ft version of him on a Vancouver rooftop and challenging users of Google Earth to find him.But it i not as easy as it sounds - as well as locating the correct rooftop - users will have to wait for Google to update their aerial photography of the building.
Artist Melanie Coles, 22, who runs the related website whereonearthiswaldo.com also wants others to join in and add their own Google Wallys around the world.
"One intention of my project was to re-contextualise Waldo from a paper medium to the web," said the artist.
"Waldo is up on a rooftop somewhere in Vancouver! He is patiently awaiting a Google fly by."
The first part of finding Wally around the world includes getting his name right, while in the UK it is Wheres Wally, in America and Canada it's Wheres Waldo and in France Ou est Charlie.
