President Lula participated this Tuesday (25) in the closing of the Brazil-Spain Business Forum, in Madrid. The petista arrived in the country after an official agenda in Portugal and spoke to businessmen and members of the Spanish government.

The president recalled his trip to Spain in November 2021 and that he spoke on the occasion about the importance of a global effort after the end of the pandemic, but reported that the world was already “sick” before the virus.

“Long before the first case of Covid-19, the world was already sick, victim of other equally harmful viruses: inequality and extremism. Today, Brazil is once again a protagonist in facing these evils, democracy has won and the Brazilian people have entrusted me with the task of uniting and rebuilding our country”, said the president.

Lula claims that the private sector has a “decisive role” in this post-pandemic reconstruction and says he wants to “attract a new wave of Spanish investments” to Brazil.

“Recently, we heard about successful cases of Spanish companies in Brazil. This success is not only measured by the financial results or the profits they bring to their shareholders. It is measured, above all, by the positive impact they bring to society through employment and income”, continued the PT.

For the president, “political stability and the growth of the Brazilian economy will once again bring excellent returns to Spanish companies”. He also recalled that Spain is the second largest foreign investor in Brazil, behind only the United States.

The president also defended that the private initiative and the public power act “hand in hand” to guarantee stability in the country.

“I am enthusiastic that the public and private sectors go hand in hand, because that is the only way we will be able to make the country grow and improve the lives of millions of citizens. We will continue with political and social stability, legal security and predictability. We are strengthening the necessary frameworks so that partners in Brazil can do business with all the necessary peace of mind”, he continues.
