Quentin Tarantino wanted to make Metaverse for new film

Quentin Tarantino, one of history’s film directors, planned to create a Metaverse for a new film. The film and the Metaverse would include a 16-year-old version of the director himself. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this “Tarantino-verse” would take place in a fictional movie theater.

Tarantino-verse in the making?

The young version of Tarantino would act as an usher in the Metaverse, but as it stands it all remains a dream. The idea was to make the Metaverse function as a fiction within a fiction.

Unfortunately, Tarantino has officially stated that the film “The Movie Critic” will not be made. By the way, it is not the first time that Tarantino’s legendary 10th film falls into disrepair.

The world-famous director has long maintained that he would direct 10 films and then retire. It would have been fantastic for the crypto industry if there was a Tarantino metaverse, but that now seems to remain a distant dream.

It is of course also possible that the Tarantino-verse will come without a film, in the form of a digital world in which we can always continue to enjoy the director’s creativity.

Quentin Tarantino on NFTs

Quentin Tarantino is not a complete stranger in the crypto world. For example, in 2022 he sold non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that contained “secrets” from his films. Including certain unedited scenes for the classic Pulp Fiction.

For those NFTs, Tarantino was even sued by Miramax studios, which claimed to own the intellectual property rights for the film. Miramax indicated at the time that they were also developing Tarantino-related NFTs.

If Tarantino’s Metaverse comes to fruition, we can expect a special world. With films like Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollwood, there are plenty of interesting worlds that can be included.

For now, however, it remains a matter of dreaming and waiting, because if we can believe The Hollywood Reporter, it won’t happen anymore.
