Grandma’s Creamy Cornmeal Cake

Tasty and simple to make, this creamy granny cornmeal cake is perfect for coffee time!


  • 4 whole eggs

  • 3 cups (tea) of milk (750 ml)

  • 1 cup (tea) and 1/2 of sugar (270 grams)

  • 1 cup (tea) fine cornmeal mimoso type (130 grams)

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (50 grams)

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder for cake (12 grams)

  • 1/2 cup (tea) wheat flour (65 grams)

  • 100 grams of Minas Standard cheese or grated parmesan


  • Add the eggs, sugar, butter or margarine to the blender and beat well. 
    Add the wheat flour, fine cornmeal, milk and beat again.
  • Turn off the blender, put the mines cheese or grated parmesan and mix very well with a whisk or spoon. 
    Add the baking powder and mix until homogenized.
  • Pour the dough into a cake tin greased with butter or margarine and sprinkled with flour. 
    Bake in a preheated oven at 180º₢ for about 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Unmold after cooling at room temperature and grandma’s creamy cornmeal cake can now be cut and served.
