US nuclear test leads to escalation in global nuclear arms race, North Korea says

North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman declared that the nuclear test carried out by the US at the proving ground in Nevada is generating an intensification in the nuclear arms race on a global scale.

According to the official statement, the test creates new tension in the military impasse between nuclear powers and accelerates the global nuclear arms race.

“This nuclear test must be prevented from affecting the military security situation in the Korean Peninsula region at all costs. To prepare for strategic instability arising in the region and on a global scale due to U.S. unilateral action, we are required to take necessary steps to increase overall readiness for nuclear deterrence within the framework of our sovereign law and potential choices,” said the spokesperson.
