Recep Tayyip Erdogan, current President of Türkiye, won the competition for the presidency during the election that took place this Sunday (28) and won his re-election in the country. This Sunday’s victory marks the beginning of his third term.

After confirmation of Erdogan’s victory, on the networks, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) congratulated and wished the Turkish president a good term.

“I wish a good mandate, with a lot of work for the best of the Turkish people”, wrote Lula in his official Twitter profile.

Earlier, Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s victory had already been mathematically confirmed, after 95% of the country’s polls had already been counted and showed that he had more than 52% of the total votes.

In addition to congratulations on winning the election race, Lula also signaled his desire to establish close relations with the Erdogan government. The PT, in his publication, stated that he hopes that the union of the two nations will provide positive “global cooperation for peace and in the fight against poverty and development in the world”.

Even before the official announcement, Erdogan had already claimed victory and gave a speech in front of his house.

“I would like to thank every member of our nation who once again handed us the responsibility of governing Turkey for the next 5 years,” he said in front of supporters.

“The only winner is Turkey”, added the president who has been in power for twenty years.
