The national government seeks to intimidate those who go out to fight against the adjustment. On this Friday afternoon, he tried it with a huge police operation against a demonstration of laid-off workers from different sectors such as GPS-Aerolíneas Argentinas, state agencies from different agencies.

The most serious thing was the illegal retention, against their will, of nearly 1,000 workers, workers, students, women, members of neighborhood assemblies. Among those held were national deputies Nicolás del Caño, Christian Castillo and Myriam Bregman (PTS-FITU).

The official objective with this type of operation is to try scare those who come out to complain against adjustment and its consequences. The Government knows that the popular anger is beginning to grow and manifest itself in a large number of struggles, such as the enormous strike of the UTA in the AMBA that took place this Thursday. Or the important marches of the Acindar metallurgists. Or the fights of fired workers in different sectors. Or the student movement that will mobilize massively next Tuesday the 23rd.

To respond to repression, the struggles against adjustment must be massified. We must unite them, unifying demands from different sectors to make the fight stronger. In this framework, it is essential actively prepare for the national strike on May 9. We must start organizing it right now, with assemblies in each place of work, study and in each neighborhood. Must be the first step in the preparation of the general strike, the only way to effectively defeat the entire adjustment.
