China overtook Japan as the world’s biggest auto exporter, exporting 1.07 million vehicles in the first quarter of this year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. With value information.

Japan exported 950,000 vehicles during the same period, a 6% increase compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Japan Association of Automobile Manufacturers. China, on the other hand, had an increase of 58%.

The rise was spurred by rising demand for electric vehicles and increased deliveries to Russia.

In addition to Russia, the main countries that China exports to are Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Japan, Australia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea, according to the General Administration of Customs of China.

Chinese auto exports continue to grow in the current quarter. An industrial group that brings together producers of passenger vehicles expects exports to rise 30% this year.

The shift to electric vehicles has helped China’s rise as an auto exporting powerhouse. Electric vehicles accounted for about 40% of China’s auto exports.
