262 leprechauns gather in Dublin to set record

It was a matter of national pride which saw 262 people in Ireland dress at leprechauns and meet at Canal Theatre, Dublin.

The members of the public were determined to reclaim the record for largest gathering of people dressed as leprechauns from America as part of Guinness World Records Day 2011.

And, as you might have guessed from the above photo, they managed it.

Derek Mooney from organisers RTE Radio One said: “We believe that a record for leprechauns belongs to its native soil and we’re really pleased to bring it back to Ireland”.
