Ingredients
1 tablespoon of butter
1/2 chopped onion
1 tablespoon of wheat flour
1/2 liter of milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onion and sauté until transparent.
- Add the wheat flour and stir for 2 minutes, to form a roux.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
- Turn off the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until it melts.
Notes
- White sauce with chicken: sauté shredded chicken in the sauce before adding the cheese.
- White sauce with shrimp: sauté cooked shrimp in the sauce before adding the cheese.
- White sauce with mushrooms: sauté chopped mushrooms in the sauce before adding the cheese.
