Wheat flour cake is a light and fluffy food, with a texture that can vary depending on the recipe. 
The dough is generally aerated by biological yeast, which produces carbon dioxide during fermentation. 
The sugar, eggs and fat help add flavor and moisture to the cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour

  • 1 cup (tea) sugar

  • 1/2 cup (tea) of oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup (tea) milk

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • In a large bowl, beat the sugar and eggs until fluffy and creamy.
  • Add the oil and milk and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Pour the dough into a greased and floured pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

  • For a fluffier cake, beat the egg whites and add them to the batter gently, mixing just until incorporated.
  • For a moister cake, add a little yogurt or cream to the batter.
  • For a vanilla-flavored cake, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence to the batter.
  • For a chocolate-flavored cake, add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder to the batter.
