At least three children and three adults died after shooting at Covenant School, a private school in Nashville, in the United States. The perpetrator of the attack is a 28-year-old woman, who was also killed. The police were called at 12:13 pm (Brasília time) and agents heard shots coming from the second floor of the educational institution.

According to Don Aaron, a spokesman for the Nashville Police Department, the woman was carrying at least two semiautomatic rifles and a pistol. She died about 15 minutes after the police were called. The children were taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Vanderbilt but did not survive.

According to Aaron, one person was injured by shards of glass, but there is no information about other victims. The city’s Fire Department says there are “several patients”.

The other students from the school were escorted to an area close to the building and welcomed by their parents.

The Covenant School is a Presbyterian institution for students up to 12 years old and has approximately 200 students and 33 teachers. Video circulating on social media shows police and ambulances going to school.
