Let’s make a Cornmeal Cake with Guava with the ingredients below.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 2 cups of cornmeal

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 200g of guava, cut into small cubes

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour and sugar.
  • Add the eggs, milk and oil to the dry mixture.
  • Stir well until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently.
  • Pour half the dough into the prepared mold and distribute the guava cubes on top.
  • Cover with the rest of the dough, ensuring that the guava paste is well covered.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cake cool before unmolding.
