Payment processor Stripe has taken a big step towards expanding its cryptocurrency services by today announcing its integration with Avalanche.
This development comes on the heels of the introduction of USD Coin (USDC) as a means of payment for online transactions by companies using Stripe’s technology.
Stripe emphasizes that this partnership will significantly simplify access to the Avalanche ecosystem for their retail customers. Ava Labs, the developer behind the Avalanche blockchain, is supporting this integration with the implementation of Stripe’s fiat-to-crypto onramp in their Core wallet.
Accessibility to Crypto Products and Applications
The partnership promises users effortless access to specialty crypto products and decentralized applications such as NFT platforms and decentralized exchanges operating on the Avalanche network.
In addition, a widget will be available in the Core wallet that will allow users to purchase Avalanche’s AVAX coins with their debit or credit card, without going through a traditional exchange.

John Egan, the head of crypto at Stripe, stated in a press release: “Our goal at Stripe is to give everyone access to the power of Web3.” This vision supports Stripe’s ongoing commitment to making cryptocurrencies more accessible, a vision that started with accepting Bitcoin payments in 2014.
