Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 pinch of salt
3/4 cup of milk
Frying oil
Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, baking powder and pinch of salt.
- Add the egg and milk to the dry mixture and stir well until you get a homogeneous mass.
- The consistency of the batter should be similar to pancake batter.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat to fry the dumplings.
- With the help of a spoon, take small portions of the dough and place in the hot oil, frying the dumplings in small batches to prevent them from sticking to each other.
- Let it fry until the dumplings are evenly golden.
- They should be soft inside.
- Remove the dumplings from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- If you prefer, while they are still warm, dip the dumplings in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon for a sweet touch.
