Ingredients
3 eggs
2 cups of sugar (tea)
1 cup (tea) oil
2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
1 cup (tea) of orange juice
1 tablespoon of baking powder
Orange zest to taste (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (medium temperature).
- Grease and flour a round pan with a central hole measuring 24 cm in diameter.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the oil and orange juice and beat until combined.
- In another bowl, mix the wheat flour and baking powder.
- Add to the wet ingredients and mix gently until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
- If desired, add orange zest.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before unmolding.
Notes
- For an even tastier cake, use fresh oranges and scrape the peel carefully so as not to get the white part.
- If you want a moister cake, add 1/2 cup (tea) of milk to the dough.
- For a cake with icing, brush the cake while still warm with an orange syrup made with orange juice, sugar and cinnamon.
