By following these instructions, you will have a soft loaf on the inside, with a golden crust on the outside. Here is a brief description of the process:

Ingredients

  • 500g wheat flour

  • 1 envelope of dry yeast (10g)

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 300ml of warm water

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Directions

  • In a small bowl, mix the yeast, sugar and 100ml of warm water.
  • Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until the mixture becomes frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture. Add the vegetable oil and the remaining warm water.
  • Start mixing the ingredients, gradually incorporating the flour.
  • When the dough begins to come together, transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough back in the bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rest in a warm place for approximately 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • After the first rest, remove the dough from the bowl and form the bread into the desired shape.
  • Place in a greased pan and let rest again for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Make a few cuts in the top of the dough to allow for expansion during baking.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and makes a hollow sound when tapped on the bottom.
  • Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing. This helps maintain the texture and moisture of the bread.
