Make a Simple Corn Cake using the ingredients listed below and following the step-by-step preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweet corn (canned or fresh)

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 cup of milk

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
    Unite a round cake shape with butter or oil and sprinkle with wheat flour.
  • In the blender, place the green corn, sugar, vegetable oil and eggs. 
    Mix until you get a smooth mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, sift the wheat flour, baking powder and salt. 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the blender mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. 
    Add the milk and stir until a smooth, lump-free dough forms.
  • Pour the dough into the greased form and place in the preheated oven. 
    Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until the cake is golden and firm to the touch.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
  • Serve cornbread at room temperature or slightly warmed. 
    You can sprinkle icing sugar on top to decorate, if desired.
