Simple chicken pie is an easy and quick recipe to prepare, which can be served as a main dish or as a snack. 
It’s a great option for those who want a tasty and nutritious meal.

Ingredients

  • 500 g cooked and shredded chicken breast

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 1/2 cup (tea) tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup (tea) peas

  • 1/2 cup corn (tea)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour

  • 1 cup of milk (tea)

  • 1/2 cup (tea) of oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Grated cheese to taste

Directions

  • In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic in oil until golden.
  • Add the tomato, tomato sauce, peas, corn, shredded chicken, salt and pepper. 
    Mix well and let it cook for a few minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, milk, oil, eggs, baking powder and salt.
  • Pour the dough into a greased and floured pan.
  • Spread the filling over the dough and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated medium oven (180ºC) for about 30 minutes, or until the dough is golden.

Notes

  • For a creamier filling, add 1/2 cup (tea) of cream cheese or 1/2 cup (tea) of cream cheese.
  • You can add other ingredients to the filling, such as olives, hearts of palm, bacon or cheese.
  • For a tastier pasta, add 1/2 cup (tea) of grated Parmesan cheese to the pasta.
