Whale buys 76 billion SHIB tokens

Shiba Inu’s remarkable rise came shortly after a ‘whale’ (a term for an investor with a significant stake) decided to buy almost 76 billion SHIB tokens for around $890,000 a few days ago.

Analysis by blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain revealed that this investor had previously realized a profit of almost $3.5 million by trading another meme coin, Pepe (PEPE).

Revival of Memecoins

Shiba Inu isn’t the only memecoin experiencing a notable price increase; the entire category of memecoins is currently experiencing a resurgence. For example, Dogecoin (DOGE) registered an increase of 73.7% in the last 7 days. Pepe (PEPE) saw a spectacular increase of more than 300% in the same period. Other meme projects like Bonk (BONK) and Floki (FLOKI) saw increases of 141% and 110% respectively.

A relative newcomer to the field, Dogwifhat (WIF), based on the Solana (SOL) network, experienced the biggest rise within the crypto market with an astonishing jump of over 323% in the past week.
