Let’s make a sardine pie with the ingredients below and follow the step-by-step instructions for preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 can canned sardines, drained and shredded

  • 1 medium chopped onion

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 1/2 cup white wine

  • 1/4 cup wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 pie crust

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sardines, onion, garlic, olive oil, white wine, wheat flour, chicken broth, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the pie is golden and bubbling.
  • Serve hot or cold.

Notes

  • You can use any type of canned sardines for this recipe.
  • For a spicier pie, add 1/2 teaspoon of hot paprika to the mixture.
  • You can also add other ingredients to the pie, such as olives, chopped tomatoes or peppers.
  • Serve the pie with salad or vegetables.
