Water
Rice vinegar
Sugar
Salt
Nori (dried seaweed)
Fresh salmon
Fresh ginger
Shoyu (Soy Sauce)
Wasabi (optional)
Directions
- Start by cooking the sushi rice following the instructions on the package.
- While rice is cooking, combine rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a small saucepan and place over low heat, stirring until sugar and salt are completely dissolved.
- When the rice is ready, transfer it to a large bowl and gently stir in the prepared rice vinegar.
- Let cool.
- Cut the salmon into thin slices and the ginger into thin strips.
- Spread a sheet of nori on a sushi board or towel.
- Spread a thin layer of rice over half of the nori sheet, leaving a border of about 1 cm at the top.
- Add a small amount of wasabi (if desired) on top of the rice.
- Place a slice of salmon on top of the rice.
- Roll the nori sheet carefully, pressing down to compact the filling.
- Cut the sushi into pieces about 2 cm wide and serve with soy sauce and fresh ginger.
