Ingredients
500g of pasta of your choice (penne, spaghetti, fusilli, etc.)
1 tin of peeled tomatoes
1 chopped onion
2 minced garlic cloves
500ml of water
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional spices to taste (oregano, basil, etc.)
Directions
- Turn the pressure cooker on medium heat and add the olive oil.
Then sauté the chopped onion and garlic until golden and fragrant. - Add the can of peeled tomatoes to the pan and break up the tomatoes with a spoon or mash them up with your hands to get smaller pieces.
- Stir well to incorporate the sautéed tomatoes with the onion and garlic.
- Then add the pasta to the pot along with the water.
- Season with salt, pepper and other seasonings of your choice.
Mix everything gently. - Close the pressure cooker and set it to high pressure mode.
- Cook for about half the time indicated on the pasta package.
For example, if pasta normally takes 10 minutes to cook, cook for about 5 minutes in the pressure cooker. - After the cooking time, turn off the heat and release the pressure in the pan according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- When the pressure is completely released, carefully open the pressure cooker.
The pasta should be al dente and the water should have been absorbed. - Stir the pasta to loosen any possible stickiness and check the doneness.
- If it’s to your liking, it’s ready to serve.
If not, return the pan to the heat for a few more minutes, adding a little water if necessary. - Serve the pressure cooker pasta hot, accompanied by grated cheese, fresh herbs or any other addition of your choice.
