Polvilho Biscuit Sweet

Sweet starch biscuit is a traditional biscuit from Brazilian cuisine, especially from the Southeast region. It is made with sweet tapioca flour, a type of cassava flour, and other simple ingredients, such as sugar, eggs and butter.

The cookies are usually round or flower-shaped and have a light, crunchy texture.

Ingredients

  • 500g sweet cassava starch

  • 1 cup (tea) sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the sweet cassava starch and sugar.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix until incorporated.
  • Shape the dough into cookies of the desired size.
  • Place the cookies on a greased and floured baking sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated medium oven (180°C) for about 20 minutes, or until golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
