Check the dough ingredients so that your skillet pizza is super tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup wheat flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • grated mozzarella cheese

  • Tomato Sauce

  • Additional ingredients to taste, such as pepperoni, ham, tomatoes, onions, peppers, olives, etc.

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture.
  • Mix well until you get a sticky dough.
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for a few minutes until elastic and smooth.
  • Divide the dough into two parts and form two balls.
  • Cover the dough balls with a clean cloth and let rest for about 10 minutes.
  • After resting, take one of the balls of dough and open it with a rolling pin on a floured surface, forming a circle about 20 cm in diameter.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Transfer the open dough to the dry skillet and let it cook for about 2 minutes, until the underside is lightly browned.
  • Turn the dough carefully using a spatula.
  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over cooked pasta.
  • Top the tomato sauce with grated mozzarella cheese and add any additional ingredients of your choice.
  • Cover the skillet with a lid or foil and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the underside of the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the pizza from the skillet and repeat the process with the second ball of dough and the rest of the ingredients.
  • Cut the pizza into slices and serve hot.
