Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
2 tablespoons of olive oil
3/4 cup warm water
grated mozzarella cheese
Tomato Sauce
Additional ingredients to taste, such as pepperoni, ham, tomatoes, onions, peppers, olives, etc.
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture.
- Mix well until you get a sticky dough.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for a few minutes until elastic and smooth.
- Divide the dough into two parts and form two balls.
- Cover the dough balls with a clean cloth and let rest for about 10 minutes.
- After resting, take one of the balls of dough and open it with a rolling pin on a floured surface, forming a circle about 20 cm in diameter.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Transfer the open dough to the dry skillet and let it cook for about 2 minutes, until the underside is lightly browned.
- Turn the dough carefully using a spatula.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over cooked pasta.
- Top the tomato sauce with grated mozzarella cheese and add any additional ingredients of your choice.
- Cover the skillet with a lid or foil and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the underside of the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the pizza from the skillet and repeat the process with the second ball of dough and the rest of the ingredients.
- Cut the pizza into slices and serve hot.
