Lemon juice adds a refreshing citrus kick, while garlic delivers a rich, aromatic flavor. Olive oil not only intensifies the flavors, but also helps keep the fish moist during cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole fish (sea bass, sea bream, snapper, etc.), cleaned and scaled

  • 1 lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary (or other herbs of your choice)

  • Lemon slices to decorate

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Wash the fish well inside and out.
  • Dry it with paper towel.
  • Make diagonal cuts in the skin of the fish on both sides to help absorb the seasoning.
  • Season the fish inside and out with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix the chopped garlic and olive oil.
  • Rub this mixture over the entire surface of the fish.
  • Place the fish on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  • Insert the rosemary branch inside the fish.
  • Place the fish in the preheated oven for around 25-30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked and the skin is golden.
  • During cooking, baste the fish occasionally with the juices that accumulate in the pan.
  • Remove from the oven and decorate with lemon slices before serving.
  • Serve the baked fish with sides of your choice, such as rice, potatoes or steamed vegetables.
