Oat Porridge

To make your oatmeal porridge, use the ingredients below and follow the instructions in the preparation method.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk (you can use cow’s milk, plant milk or water)

  • 1 cup rolled oats (whole or rolled)

  • A bit of salt

  • Sweetener to taste (sugar, honey, maple syrup, stevia, etc.)

  • Fresh fruit, nuts or other ingredients of your choice for garnish

Directions

  • In a pan, add the rolled oats, milk and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent the oats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are tender and the porridge has thickened to the desired consistency.
  • Remove from the heat and add the sweetener of your choice, adjusting the amount according to your taste.
  • Serve the porridge in individual bowls and garnish with fresh fruit, nuts or other ingredients of your choice, such as ground cinnamon.
  • Wait a few minutes for the porridge to cool down a bit before enjoying it.
