Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Monday that a date had been set for an Israeli incursion into Rafah, the last stronghold of refuge for Palestinians in Gaza, without revealing the specific date, while a new round of negotiations for a ceasefire takes place in Cairo.

“Today I received a detailed report on the negotiations in Cairo. We are constantly working to achieve our goals, first and foremost the release of all our hostages and the complete victory over Hamas,” Netanyahu said.

“This victory requires entering Rafah and eliminating the terrorist battalions there. It will happen – there is a date.”
