Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup cocoa powder
1 and 1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup of hot water
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups of icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round cake tin approximately 23 cm in diameter with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla essence to the dry mixture.
- Beat well until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Add the hot water to the dough and mix until well incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting.
- In a pan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the milk and cocoa powder, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
- Remove the pan from the heat and add the icing sugar and vanilla essence.
- Stir well until you get smooth, glossy coverage.
- When the cake is ready, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the pan.
- Then unmold it and place it on a serving plate.
- Pour the chocolate frosting over the cake, spreading it evenly over the entire surface.
- Allow the cake to cool completely so that the frosting sets before serving.
