We made a list of the ingredients used and the method of preparation for your Mexican Style Rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white rice

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • 1 cups chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 cup of peas

  • 2 cups of hot water

  • salt to taste

  • Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Directions

  • Heat the oil in a large pan and add the onion and garlic.
  • Sauté until soft and golden.
  • Add the rice and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Add parsley, peas, hot water and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, or until the water is completely absorbed and the rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • Mix with a spoon and add the chopped cilantro.
  • Serve hot with tacos, enchiladas or other Mexican dishes.
