
Escondidinho de carne is a typical dish of Brazilian cuisine, made with mashed potatoes, ground beef or shredded meat, and gratin cheese. It is a simple and easy dish to make, but very tasty and comforting.

Ingredients
1 kg of potatoes
500 g of ground beef
200 g mozzarella cheese
Oil
1 onion
1 clove of crushed garlic
Salt to taste
White pepper to taste
Directions
- Cook potatoes in boiling water until tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them with a fork or potato masher.
- In a pan, add a drizzle of olive oil, the onion and garlic and sauté until golden.
- Add the ground meat and sauté until the water dries up.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In an ovenproof dish, make a layer of mashed potatoes.
- Over the puree, place the ground meat.
- Cover with the remaining mashed potatoes.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Place in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 20 minutes, or until the cheese melts and browns.
