Ground meat dumplings are a popular dish throughout Brazil. It is made with ground meat, onion, garlic, seasonings and wheat flour or breadcrumbs. The dumplings can be fried, baked or grilled.

Ground meat dumplings can be served as an appetizer, snack or side dish. 
They are delicious with tomato sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup or vinaigrette.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg of ground beef

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour or breadcrumbs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Seasonings to taste (optional)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, wheat flour or breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and seasonings to taste.
  • Knead well until it forms a homogeneous dough.
  • Shape the dumplings into the desired size.
  • Fry the dumplings in hot oil until golden.
  • Drain the dumplings on paper towels.
  • Serve the dumplings hot or cold.
