Ground beef roulade is a traditional dish of Brazilian cuisine. It is made with ground meat, which is seasoned and rolled with a ham and cheese filling. The roulade is then baked in the oven until golden.

Ground beef roulade is a versatile dish that can be served as a main dish or as a starter. 
It can also be served cold or hot.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of ground beef

  • 1/2 cup (tea) grated onion

  • 2 crushed garlic cloves

  • 1 tablespoon of salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 10 slices of ham

  • 10 slices of mozzarella cheese

  • 1 beaten egg for brushing

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt and black pepper.
  • Spread the ground meat on plastic wrap, forming a rectangle measuring approximately 30 x 40 cm.
  • Place the slices of ham and cheese over the ground meat, leaving a 2 cm margin around the edges.
  • Wrap the ground meat with the help of plastic film, forming a roulade.
  • Cut the ends of the roulade and brush with beaten egg.
  • Place the roulade in a preheated medium oven (180ºC) for approximately 30 minutes, or until golden.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, you can add ingredients such as corn, peas, olives or tomatoes to the filling.
  • You can also replace the ham and cheese with other ingredients, such as shredded chicken, tuna or spinach.
