Ground beef dumplings are a popular dish throughout Brazil. They are made with ground beef, onion, garlic, spices, and wheat flour or breadcrumbs. The dumplings can be fried, baked, or grilled.

Ground beef dumplings can be served as an appetizer, snack or side dish. They are delicious with tomato sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup or vinaigrette.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg ground beef

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour or breadcrumbs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Seasonings to taste (optional)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, wheat flour or breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and seasonings to taste.
  • Knead well until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • Shape the dumplings into the desired size.
  • Fry the dumplings in hot oil until golden brown.
  • Drain the dumplings on paper towels.
  • Serve the dumplings hot or cold.
