Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
2 eggs
1/4 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of milk
Powdered sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling
Frying oil
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and ground cinnamon (if using).
- In another bowl, lightly beat the eggs and add the milk.
- Mix well.
- Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until you get a homogeneous mass.
- The consistency should be slightly thicker than pancake batter.
- Heat the oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat.
- With the help of a tablespoon, take portions of the dough and carefully place them in the hot oil.
- Fry a few dumplings at a time, avoiding overloading the pan.
- Fry the raincakes for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through on the inside.
- Remove the dumplings from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and cinnamon.
- Pass the dumplings still warm in this mixture, covering them completely.
- Ready!
