Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 cup of milk

  • Powdered sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling

  • Frying oil

Directions

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and ground cinnamon (if using).
  • In another bowl, lightly beat the eggs and add the milk.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • The consistency should be slightly thicker than pancake batter.
  • Heat the oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat.
  • With the help of a tablespoon, take portions of the dough and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  • Fry a few dumplings at a time, avoiding overloading the pan.
  • Fry the raincakes for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through on the inside.
  • Remove the dumplings from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  • Pass the dumplings still warm in this mixture, covering them completely.
  • Ready!
