Ingredients
3 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
Juice and zest of 2 oranges
2 cups of wheat flour
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vegetable oil, orange juice and orange zest to the egg and sugar mixture.
- Mix well until smooth.
- Add the sifted wheat flour to the dough and stir gently until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently until it becomes a homogeneous mass.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
- Then unmold and cool completely on a wire rack.
- If you wish, you can make an orange syrup to water the cake.
- Mix fresh orange juice with sugar and heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Water the cake with the still warm syrup.
- The fluffy orange cake is ready to enjoy!
