Let’s make this fluffy orange cake using the ingredients and following the step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar

  • Juice and zest of 2 oranges

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vegetable oil, orange juice and orange zest to the egg and sugar mixture.
  • Mix well until smooth.
  • Add the sifted wheat flour to the dough and stir gently until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently until it becomes a homogeneous mass.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  • Then unmold and cool completely on a wire rack.
  • If you wish, you can make an orange syrup to water the cake.
  • Mix fresh orange juice with sugar and heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Water the cake with the still warm syrup.
  • The fluffy orange cake is ready to enjoy!
