2 cups of cornmeal
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup of milk
2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 pinch of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour, sugar and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with a fork and add the milk and oil.
Mix well. - Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Add the baking powder and mix gently.
- Pour the batter into the greased tin and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is golden and firm.
Do the toothpick test: insert a wooden toothpick into the center of the cake, and if it comes out clean, the cake is done. - Remove from the oven and let the cake cool slightly before unmolding.
