European Union (EU) foreign ministers will meet once again in Luxembourg this Monday, 22nd, focusing on the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

A senior EU diplomat told the press that ministers will address the issue of rapid delivery of anti-aircraft defense systems to Ukraine, including more Patriot batteries. EU defense ministers will take part in the discussions.

Furthermore, the EU Council will consider the possibility of using frozen Russian assets to assist Kiev.

Regarding the Middle East, the bloc’s foreign ministers will consider expanding sanctions on Iran due to the recent escalation in the region, triggered by the Israeli airstrike on Iran’s consulate building in Damascus and Tehran’s subsequent retaliatory strikes.
