Ingredients

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup (200g) plain yogurt

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 and 1/2 cups wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the yogurt and oil to the egg and sugar mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder and salt over the egg and yogurt mixture.
  • Mix gently until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • If desired, add vanilla extract and mix again.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, leveling it with a spatula.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  • Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving.
