A dairy-free cake is a cake that does not contain milk or dairy products such as butter, cheese or cream. This makes the cake suitable for people with lactose allergies or intolerance.

Dairy-free cakes are usually made with plant-based milk, such as soy milk, almond milk, or coconut milk. 
These plant-based milks can be found in supermarkets and health food stores.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 1 cup lactose-free chocolate powder

  • 1/2 cup hot water

  • 1 tablespoon of chemical baking powder

Directions

  • In a blender, beat the eggs, coconut oil and sugar until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  • Add the wheat flour, lactose-free chocolate powder and beat until incorporated.
  • Add hot water and mix well.
  • Lastly, add the chemical baking powder and mix gently.
  • Pour the dough into a greased and floured pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
