If you use the indicated ingredients and follow the preparation step-by-step, your Christmas Farofa will be delicious!

Ingredients

  • 500 g cassava flour

  • 2 crushed garlic cloves

  • 3 tablespoons of butter or olive oil

  • 1 medium chopped onion

  • 1/2 cup chopped olives

  • 1 chopped red pepper

  • 100 g of chopped bacon

  • 100 g of chopped calabresa sausage

  • 1/2 cup of raisins

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a pan, heat the butter or olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
  • Add the bacon and pepperoni and fry until golden.
  • Add the cassava flour and stir well so that it absorbs all the fat.
  • Add the olives, bell pepper, raisins, nuts, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook for a few more minutes, stirring constantly, until the farofa is very dry.

Notes

  • For a wetter farofa, add a little chicken or vegetable broth.
  • You can add other ingredients to the farofa, such as grated carrots, chopped boiled egg, chestnuts or peanuts.
