Cream Biscuit

Biscoito de nata is a type of sweet and crunchy cookie, typical of Brazilian cuisine. It is made with cream, wheat flour, sugar, cornstarch and yeast. The cream gives the biscuit a unique flavor and texture, making it an essential ingredient for the recipe.

Serve the cream biscuits warm or cold, accompanied by coffee or tea. 
They are also great for gifting or selling.

Ingredients

  • 300g cream (1 pot)

  • 240g wheat flour (2 cups)

  • 200g cornstarch (1 packet)

  • 180g sugar (1 cup)

  • 60g butter (3 tablespoons)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream, butter and sugar until it forms a cream.
  • Add the cornstarch and mix until combined.
  • Add the wheat flour little by little, mixing until it forms a homogeneous dough.
  • Shape the cookies into whatever shape you want.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
