Northeastern Couscous is perfect for you to use the ingredients on the list and follow the step-by-step preparation method.

Ingredients

  • 150g flake corn flour or pre-cooked corn flakes (flake) (1 cup)

  • 2g salt (1/2 teaspoon)

  • 120g filtered water at room temperature (120 ml | 1/2 cup)

Directions

  • In a bowl add 150g flake corn flour or pre-cooked corn flakes (flake) (1 cup);
  • Add 2g salt (1/2 tsp);
  • Add 120g of filtered water at room temperature (120 ml | 1/2 cup) little by little;
  • Mix well;
  • Let it hydrate for 15 minutes;
  • Transfer the flour to a couscous bowl through a strainer over a pan (do not squeeze the flour);
  • Add water to the pan;
  • Heat the water until it boils;
  • Add the strainer with the couscous bowl (be careful that the flour does not touch the water);
  • Cover and steam for 15 minutes;
  • Turn off the fire and let it rest for 10 minutes;
  • Your Northeast Couscous is ready!
