Ingredients

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of cornmeal

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is fluffy and pale.
  • Add the milk and mix well.
  • Then add the cornmeal, wheat flour and salt.
  • Stir until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Add the melted butter and mix again.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and stir gently until it is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Pour the dough into the greased form and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding.
