This is a basic ground beef pancake recipe, but you can adapt it by adding other ingredients to the filling, such as cheese, fresh herbs, or vegetables of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of wheat flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • Pinch of salt

  • 300g of ground beef

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 1/2 chopped pepper (optional)

  • Seasonings to taste (salt, pepper, cumin, etc.)

  • Vegetable oil for sautéing

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, egg, milk, vegetable oil and salt.
  • Beat well until you obtain a homogeneous mass without lumps.
  • Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
  • When it’s hot, pour a small ladle of batter into the pan.
  • Spread the dough across the pan, forming a thin, uniform layer.
  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the edges start to brown.
  • Repeat the process until you run out of batter, stacking the cooked pancakes on a plate.
  • In a pan, heat some vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  • Add the chopped garlic and sauté for another 1 minute.
  • Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, stirring occasionally to break up any large pieces.
  • When the meat is almost completely cooked, add the chopped tomatoes and peppers (if using).
  • Season with salt, pepper and other seasonings to taste.
  • Cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables are tender and the meat is completely cooked.
  • Take a cooked pancake and place a portion of the ground meat filling in the center.
  • Wrap the pancake tightly around the filling, forming a roll.
  • Repeat the process with the rest of the pancakes and filling.
  • Serve hot, accompanied by your favorite sauce.
