Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1 cup of hot water

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
  • Mix well.
  • Add the vegetable oil, hot water, eggs and vanilla essence to the dry mixture.
  • Beat everything with a wooden spoon or wire whisk until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  • Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving.
