Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
1 cup of hot water
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
- Mix well.
- Add the vegetable oil, hot water, eggs and vanilla essence to the dry mixture.
- Beat everything with a wooden spoon or wire whisk until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
- Then transfer it to a cooling rack and let it cool completely before serving.
