Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups wheat flour

  • 3/4 cups cocoa powder

  • 2 cups of sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon powdered yeast

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

  • 1 cup of hot water

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well.
  • Add the hot water to the mixture and mix again until the dough is homogeneous.
  • Pour the dough into the greased tin and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake is baked (do the toothpick test).
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
