Cream of chicken is a creamy and tasty dish, made with shredded chicken, green corn, cream and chicken broth. It is a classic dish of Brazilian cuisine, and can be served as a starter, main dish or even a snack.

Make cream of chicken using the ingredients below and follow the preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg cooked and shredded chicken breast

  • 1 can of green corn

  • 1 can of cream

  • 1 box of chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup of milk

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/2 chopped onion

  • 2 tablespoons of oil

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion until golden.
  • Add the shredded chicken and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  • Add the green corn, cream, chicken broth, milk and cornstarch dissolved in a little water.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
  • Season with salt to taste and serve.

Notes

  • For a creamier cream, use more milk and cornstarch.
  • For a tastier cream, add seasonings to taste, such as garlic, pepper, green chilli or curry.
  • You can add other ingredients to creamed chicken, such as vegetables, cheese or pasta.
