Addictive dessert, the traditional caramelized coquinho is very simple to make and results in a sweet that everyone will love!

Anyone who tastes a caramelized coconut can no longer stop eating!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (tea) of water

  • 1 and 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 cups of coconut (chopped)

Directions

  • Put the coconut cut into cubes, the sugar, the water in a pan and stir well.
  • Light the fire and as soon as it boils, don’t stop stirring. 
    Reduce the heat when it thickens and keep stirring constantly.
  • Cook until caramelized, turn off the heat and keep stirring until the sugar dries up and sticks to the coconut cubes.
  • Transfer the cubes to a greased shape with butter or margarine and spread well. 
    Let it cool down and the caramelized coconut is ready.
